About StayMohr

Built for a life
in Japan

A lifestyle company, not a real estate agency. We exist to help English-speaking buyers build a complete, enduring life in Japan through property.

Our story

Why we built StayMohr

We started StayMohr after watching too many international buyers struggle through the same gap: they could find a house in Japan, but no one would help them turn it into a home, a business, or a life. Real estate agents stopped at the sale. Renovation contractors couldn't communicate in English. Property managers didn't understand the expectations of international guests.

StayMohr was built to close that gap — to be the single, bilingual partner that stays involved across the entire ownership journey. From the first conversation to the first guest checkout and every season after, we are there.

Today we serve buyers from across the English-speaking world, managing properties from Kyoto machiya to Tokyo apartments to countryside farmhouses — each one a life built in Japan.

Mission

Make property ownership in Japan effortless, transparent, and rewarding for English-speaking buyers.

We remove the language, legal, and logistical barriers that keep international buyers from confidently owning and operating property in Japan — replacing friction with a single trusted partner.

Vision

To be the leading English-language brand for property ownership and hospitality in Japan.

A complete ecosystem where discovery, acquisition, renovation, management, and experience come together — so that owning in Japan is as considered as it is extraordinary.

Our philosophy

Principles that guide every property

The convictions behind how we source, renovate, manage, and advise.

01

Heritage, respected

We renovate with reverence for Japanese architectural tradition, preserving the character that makes a property worth owning in the first place.

02

Transparency, always

Clear pricing, honest assessments, and full visibility into operations. Our clients always know what they own and how it is performing.

03

Relationships, not transactions

We measure success in decades of ownership, not a single sale. Every client is a long-term partner in building a life in Japan.
