StayMohr

Missions & Ministry

Property can be more than an investment

StayMohr was built with a purpose beyond property. We believe homes, spaces, and services can support missionaries, pastors, churches, and ministry across Japan.

Why This Matters

Japan needs the gospel. Workers need support.

Japan is one of the least-reached nations on earth — less than 1% of the population identifies as Christian. Missionaries who serve here face high costs, language barriers, cultural complexity, and limited access to affordable, foreign-friendly housing.

At the same time, Japan has over 9 million vacant houses. Many of these homes sit empty in communities where missionaries live and serve. We see an intersection between an enormous practical need and an enormous physical resource.

StayMohr is not a ministry. We are a property technology company. But we were founded with the conviction that the tools, knowledge, and relationships we build should also serve the church. This page exists to explain that conviction — and to invite you to tell us how we can help.

Our Story

Built by a family that moved to Japan on faith

StayMohr was founded by a Christian family who moved to Japan in 2024. We experienced firsthand how difficult it is for foreigners to find housing, understand the property system, and navigate a culture that — while deeply welcoming — operates very differently from what we knew.

As we built the tools we wished had existed for ourselves, a conviction grew: the same platform that helps investors and lifestyle buyers could also serve people who come to Japan for a very different reason — to share the love of Christ.

This section of StayMohr is not a product. It is an open door. If you are a missionary, a pastor, a church planter, a sending organization, or someone who supports ministry in Japan, we want to hear from you — even if we are not ready to help with everything yet.

What We Believe

A company rooted in faith

StayMohr is a commercial company, not a church or non-profit. But we are built by Christians and shaped by Christian values. We believe every person is made in the image of God. We believe property is a gift to steward, not just an asset to optimize. And we believe that business done honestly, with genuine care for people, can glorify God.

Love First

Every decision starts with "how does this serve people?" — not "how does this grow revenue?"

Integrity Always

Honest data, honest guidance, no hidden fees, no inflated claims. Trust is built through transparency.

Kingdom Purpose

Property is a tool. We believe homes and spaces can serve the gospel, not just portfolios.

Stewardship

Japan has millions of empty houses. We see an opportunity to restore, repurpose, and care well.

Missions Stay

Homes for those who serve

As StayMohr grows its rental and accommodation network, we want to set aside capacity specifically for ministry workers. Our long-term vision is a dedicated “Missions Stay” program — curated properties offered at reduced or supported rates for missionaries, pastors on sabbatical, and visiting church teams.

  • Foreign-friendly homes near churches and ministry centres
  • Furnished accommodations with flexible lease terms
  • Priority access for verified missionaries and church groups
  • Connections to local Christian community and support

This program is not yet live. If you or your organization would benefit from it, please reach out below — your input will shape how we build it.

A Future Vision

Yachimata — crossroads of purpose

Our family lives in Yachimata, Chiba — a small city whose name means “eight crossroads.” Surrounded by farmland and vacant homes, it sits at the intersection of urban access and rural opportunity. We dream of a day when some of these empty houses become homes for missionaries, retreat spaces for weary pastors, and gathering places for the church in Japan.

That vision is years away. But we believe in starting with honesty about where we are, and faith about where God may lead. If this resonates with you, we want to hear your story.
